To drive in Tenerife / Spain you must be 18 years to rent a car, age 21. As for the license:
- If you are from member countries of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, you need only carry a driver's license in force.
- If you come from a country other than the above must possess an International Driving Permit.
Any tourist traveling in their own vehicles should be aware that you may require a temporary road permit. You can request this permission from the Customs and shall have a term of 6 months.
